Most complete to date book published on the history of Waterford Crystal (to 1981), including a handsome photogaphic study of old and new pieces. There is a special chapter on how crystal is still crreated by hand, a history of the town and county of Waterford, and a look at famous people who have received trophies and special pieces of Waterford. For collectors, the photographs show stemware suites, limited editions and unique pieces. A beautiful book for which sales by this bookseller, when published, were dismal. Our collectors and dealers wanted a more comprehensive listing/photography collection of pieces, with pattern or design names, dates, dimensions, and values, which this book did not include. On the secondary market and with the acquisition of Waterford by Wedgwood and now the further acquisition of Wedgwood by Doulton, the book is more popular with those collectors interested in the original Waterford company history. No interior markings, bindery tight. Dust jacket has small tears at top of spine and at edges, and one two inch creasing and tear on the back. Book is offered with bookseller added Durafold¨ jacket to prevent additional dust jacket damage. 256 pages. If shipped internationally, extra postage will be required.
